‘It’s high time me and him had a heart-to-hart about this.  I want to understand how he thinks.  Do U no ware hee iz?’

As it turned out, that would prove to be a difficult course of action.  Thanks to their reputation from the gas station, Carlos and his group felt they had free reign over anyone and everyone.  They marched about the camp, making their presence known by cruel jokes and threats.  If Carlos saw something he liked, he took it.  If he saw something he didn’t like, he destroyed it.  People grew concerned.  Some men tried to stand up to him, but they were quickly beaten down.

While Albert was still in shock, the convoy he found himself a part of ran yet another red light.  Albert suddenly realized he was part of something very out of the ordinary.  He looked around to see the other cars.  He imagined he might have been caught up in some procession or police activity; but no--the cars surrounding him were just like any other cars.  There was a little red Chevy Geo and big Ford Escalade.  There was a guy on a motorcycle and a soccer mom in a baby blue mini-van.

On Albert’s first day at Polytech Corporation’s Corporate Headquarters he had to fill out six different questionnaires that asked for the exact same information.
